Blackjack

It was a Sunday in December we had just had a nice dinner and had just moved in to the living room, to get the desert. I had invited 2 of my friends over for dinner. Outside the weather were really bad, snow and a wild wind. We were sitting in the living room with a candle, which lighted up the room. It had been a good day so far.

Suddenly it knocked on the door, I thought “who is knocking on the door this late”. But I went out and opened the door. When I opened the door, the cold wind hit me in the face. But there was no one there. I locked the door and went back in the living room where my friends had picked up some cards and had started playing blackjack. I sad down and started playing.

Then it knocked on the door again. I went out to the door again and looked out from the window. No one there. I opened the door to double-check. I was just about to unlock door, but it wasn’t locked. Weird I thought, but maybe something wrong with the door. For the second time I went back to the game.

When I was just about to do my move, it knocked on the door again. I asked one of my friends, Sandy, if she would try to go out and check if it was someone who was playing a trick on us. She went out to the door and opened it and yelled to us: “No one there”. The door closed. “Sandy it is your turn!” I shouted. But I got no answer. “Sandy, come on!” I threw my cards, and stood up. Was she playing a trick on me now? I was really not in the mood for these tricks. I went out to the door, and opened it. There were some footsteps in the snow. I shouted:” Where are Sandy, come on! Tell me where you are!” I went out; the street was only lighted up by one streetlight. It was difficult to see anything. “Sandy where are you?”

I gave up; maybe she just played a trick on me. When I came back I reached the handled and tried to open the door. It was locked. I knocked on the door, and got angry. “Open Martin, it isn’t funny anymore, you and Sandy are really mean to me!” no one opened the door, so I went around the house and looked in to the window. The candle wasn’t burning anymore. Suddenly something hit the windows from inside. 2 hands kept on smashing on the windows. It was Martin. I could hear him, he shouted: “Help!”. He then disappeared. Blood from him was still on the windows. I took my shirt off, and tied it around my hand and broke the window. I jumped right in to the living room, and there was Martin lying on the floor. My white walls were all covered in blood. I picked up the knife we had used for the cake. The candle suddenly lighted up. I was scared, standing there with a knife in my hand, shaking. With small steps I went for the kitchen. It was hard to just go around Martin, but he sure was dead. In the kitchen body parts were spread all over.

I heard a noise, my heart stopped for a second, what was that!
