The language is informal. There are a lot of repetitions. In the chorus, ”If, If, If”. The beat in the song implies that it is a happy song, it has a faster beat than sad songs usually have. But the text has another message. It is the story of a celebrity who is not able to escape the expectations from the sorrounding environment. The message in the song is that due to her status as a celebrity, she has no privacy. She is never alone, and always has to live up to the expectations from the surroundings.

Relation to surveillance and selfpromotion:
She is under constant surveillance by the media, and her selfpromotion does that she cannot afford to include him in her selfpromotion, because it would cause a lot of commotion in the media, and perhaps, if the relationship does not last, harm her image.

Stone Sour: Through the Glass

Through the glass by Stone Sour

·- Corey Taylor is the lead vocalist in the band, which he personally formed in 1992, Stone Sour. He was raised by a single mother, and was first introduced to classic rock by his grandfather, which he still indulges. Corey joined Slipknot in 1997, so he is singing in both bands.

Persons who are interested in classic rock with feelings written implicit in the text.

·- The language in the song text is speech and is affected by contractions, which are very characteristic for song text, because they are easier to sing, and gives a natural flow to the melody.

The mood in the song is melancholic, because it gives the text a deeper meaning, and connects the text with the text.

- “Through the glass”, “how do you feel?” “Stars that shine to you” and “Stars that lie to you.”

The theme in the text is self-promotion. In our humble opinion we think that the text is about stars, who promote themselves, to something which they aren’t. “Looking at you through the glass,” so we, as viewers, are watching the stars through the glass of a television. “How do you feel” that is when the stars think too much about their appeal and what others think, and not caring about what they feel themselves. “And while you’re outside looking in, describing what you see, remember what you’re staring at is me.” So we, as viewers, are watching the stars, suveil them, if you will, and discussing them, they are actually suffering, from the downsides of being famous. “Before you tell yourself, it’s just a different scene, remember it’s just different from what you’ve seen.” So the stars are denying the facts and convincing themselves that this is just a different scene/scenario, but they know different. So it’s very “plactic fantastic.” Connecting that quote to the video, we can see that the stars are being pulled away by rodies like they are cardboards, so it’s all just a big made-up scene. “And it’s the staaaars, they shine to you.. And it’s the staaars that lie to you.” So they shine to you through the media, but they are fake and platic, so in the end they are lying to you, about themselves. So they are fitting what the people wants.

Lonlygirl15

Bree is an ordinary teenage girl, who lead an unworried life, until her parents is taken by a mysterious order/cult. The people that came to take her parents were the leaders of her religion. Her parents left her a note that said that she should stay with her friend Daniel. Daniel is a boy, who is in love with Bree. He has been a big part of her life, and they spend a lot of time together. There is also an other guy, that Bree Likes. His name is Jonas. He is also in love with Bree, but even though they like each other, they are not a couple.

Bree has a very special religion. It is called the Zodiac of Denderah, and it is a very old Egyptian religion. The leaders of that religion believe that a few girls, for instance Bree, worldwide have a special blood strain that has life extending powers. Bree fears what the order would do to her or her parents, if they catch any of them.

In the videos, which were presented to us, there is a storyline, where we are introduced to Bree and Daniel. The first video we saw was the very first bit of the series “lonygirl15”. In that episode, Bree tells a bit about herself, and that she have never had a weblog before, but that she had seen some different ones.

The next episode she talks about an event that was the main theme of one of the other episodes, an episode where she was out hiking with Daniel. People had commented on that video that it was obvious Daniel was in love with her. She told that she had asked him and that he did like her.

Next Daniel is in the picture, telling us about Bree’s religion, the Zodiac of Denderah. He does not approve of the religion, and does not fully understand why she is a member of it, or what they stand for.

After that, Bree explains her religion, and why people do not believe it anymore.

Then Bree’s parents are abducted by some of the leaders from her religion, one of the decans. Her parents left her a note that said that she should stay with Daniel. After her parents were kidnapped, Daniel and Bree decided, that no place was safe to stay, so they moved around all the time, and practically lived in Daniels car.

In the last episode that was given to us, many new people were present, amongst others Jonas. In that episode, Bree has left a telephone message, which said she was going to do the ceremony to keep them safe. Because as she said as long as the Order was after her, then the people she loved would never be safe.

Lonelygirl 15

Bree Avery lives a fairly normal life, and her upraising has apparently been as any other chikds, and her social skills are on par with others of her age. So there is nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to Bree.
Her parents on the other hand are involved with a religious cult called The Order, which later on will have an enormous impact on her life.
As most teenagers she is constantly at war with her parents who are very religious. They want her to join this cult called The Order, and to do that, a ceremony is needed. The reason she starts blogging is that she is bored, due to the fact that “Nothing ever happens” in her town. She has only one friend, a boy called Daniel. She spends a lot of time with him, which also leads him to believe that there might be more to their relationship than a friendly fondness. Later on she is joined by people from the resistance who wants to protect her because their own friends have fallen victims for The Order.

In September 2006 the truth of the blogging was revealed to be a hoax. Due to this the series got a tremendous amount of coverage from the media. This led to the theory that it was some sort of hidden commercial for an upcoming movie to capture the attention of the media.
In reality Bree Avery is called Jessica Rose, and is an actor from New Zealand.

The "lonelygirl15" phenomena explained!

Members of the lonelygirl15 cast

Go through the following videos, and try to work out a ”profile” on Bree:

Who is she?
She is a typical teenager, who lives with her mother and father in a suburb. And then she has this video-blog: ”lonelygirl15”. She is close connected with Daniel, but has an odd religion/belief. – During the show, she becomes a member of the ”Hymn of One” – An ancient Egyptian cult. Besides all that, she is also open-minded, careless and shares her problems, thoughts and experiences with us. – So normal teenager, with a different religion

What type of life does she lead?
Quite normal, but according to her, boring. She hangs with her friends, and having fun.
Who does she hang out with?
Daniel (her best friend). And he is the only one we hear about, even though the Wiki-page says that there are several members of the cast. For example Jonas (the guy with the cell in the last episode), and a girl we don’t get the name of. But we have identified her as being the character Sarah Genatiempo, a 19-years old who during the show develops a crush on Daniel.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ianUGwrLxA&feature=player_embedded#at=22
^^ - You can check out the last episode we were given, to see the characters.

What is the ”storyline” of the selected videos?
The storyline is pretty much about normal teenage-problems. The unusual thing about it is that Bree is a member of the Hymn of One, a religious evil society. So it starts out being normal, but becomes a weird story, with the cult as motive power.
Find out more about Lonelygirl15 by looking at the blog:

Bree during her first broadcast

The phenomena is not real! It started in June 2006, and was revealed in September 2006. The cast is all actors.

The Order had discovered the fountain of youth, an incredibly rare enzyme in the blood of special girls like Bree. Controlling vast wealth and power, the Order had infiltrated every level of society, and on August 3rd, 2007 they finally caught up with Bree and her friends…

Around the world people just like you are joining the fight against the Order. In England, another special girl like Bree was discovered, KateModern, and her friends joined the fight. In Poland, n1ckola. In Australia, The Last. And, in the United States, a new resistance answered the call.
After having goggled the religious cult, Hymn of One, we’ve found out that:
The cult calls the “lonelygirl15” phenomena a group of pranksters, which have interrupted their holy pilgrimage, and caused severe damage to the society’s brethren.

http://hymnofone.org/
^^ - Check the cult out yourself!

So to sum up:
• Bree is a typical teenager, besides that her parents are members of Hymn of One.
• The Order wants Bree to join, because of a rare enzyme in her blood. – The enzyme is the base of the fountain of youth.
• More YouTube-accounts were created in different countries, to support Bree’s fight against the order.
• The real order is quite pissed. They claim that the “lonelygirl15” phenomena has ruined their holy pilgrimage.
